This is the story of five awesome ladies from all around the U.S. (Hawaii, South Carolina, Minnesota, Missouri, and Colorado) who came together through their joy of blogging and owning handmade shops.  Their friendship was strengthened through twitter, blog comments, emails, facebook, {insert social media here}, etc until one day, April 7, 2011 to be exact, they met in person at the Creative Estates conference in Arizona and the fun only just began.  The next 3 days they were joined at the hip, eating gummy candies until the wee hours of the night, creating silly phone videos, and obsessing over Whippy Cake headbands.

And this is where the Adventures of the Wandering Whippy Cake begins.  I’m beginning my journey with the lovely House Puppet (a cluster of vintage prints including red pin dot, kitchen yellow and gray plaid rosettes adorned with a mismatching collection of buttons).  I decided to pair this accessory with a floral dress and a red belt in which many of the colors coordinate with the headband.  And I just absolutely ADORE the buttons on it, don’t you?  To represent Kansas City, Missouri and the straight up Midwest, I chose an open field.  But don’t worry, that’s not all that the Midwest is made up of… the five of us each have or own Whippy Cakes of which we’ll be passing around so I’ll get to show off a lot more of this wonderful city I live in and possibly cities I travel to.
