I really need to learn how to do a messy bun. All I know is that your hair has to be dirty, dry shampoo is your friend, and you gotta tease the heck out of it. I’ve watched tons of vlogs and youtube tutorials and followed along exactly, but it never turns out right! So then I just end up doing a poor man’s sock bun and call it a bad hair day. Don’t judge.
But I made up for it by throwing on my new favorite wrap dress, tights, and a statement necklace. Why is it my new fave dress you ask? It’s easy on and off for a nursing mama, can be dressed up or down, cinches my waist so it makes my big ole belly look smaller than it really is (score!) and it really just is a staple piece in anyone’s wardrobe. I don’t know how I lived without a wrap dress until now. But now life can go on… back to not washing my hair and re-watching messy bun tutorials for the 2983293th time.

Your necklace is gorgeous!! You are too, of course! Great look!
Nursing tanks. They make it so much easier!!! I need like 10 more!
adorable outfit! I’d say my closet staple is a pair of black skinny jeans!

haah i can’t seem to do a messy bun for the life of me either!! >.< doh.
You look adorable – love the dress!
Haha, that’s exactly what i experience whenever i try to do a messy bun. My hair is the type that difficult to be styled.
Your necklace is so adorable, love!
At least you can do a bun!! I love that dress–it looks so comfy and versatile! I think my wardrobe staple is jeans–I wear them TOO much!
Aww, I think your bun is cute!
we need to skype date so i can show you!!!!! maybe we can sneak a late one in even while i’m in ATL or while we’re at CE.
love the dress and esp that necklace!
A great-fitting pair of jeans is a wardrobe staple! So is a wonderful necklace … love yours, and I love wrap dresses. Perfect for those days when I don’t know what to wear but want to look put-together.
You look cute! Really like the necklace.
As for the bun thing, I can’t do a messy bun either. I’m convinced it’s because I have Asian hair: thick and heavy, super straight and slippery. It refuses to stay up in a bun unless I put in umpteen different elastics and pins, and it never looks artfully messy, it just gets spiky and looks like an anime character’s hair. Ugh.
I can’t do a messy bun either!!!! I love wrap dresses too – I think they flatter everyone
aw you are so cute Sandy! That dress look so comfy, definitely a must have in a wardrobe!
That dress is SO cute.
I can’t do a messy bun…. I hate having dirty hair, even if I do use dry shampoo. And I’m too much of a perfectionist.
love that dress and your necklace! I’ve been wearing a bun more often lately and I really like it.
You look so pretty, Sandy! Love your bun and the wrap dress. And that necklace is just gorgeous too.
xoxo
LOVE your dress!
Love wrap dresses! I find them flattering on every woman

I suck at styling my hair. I need to fly you out here to teach me how to make a proper bun. Yours looks great.

Loving the wrap dress! It is so flattering and looks great with your tights.
Awww, you’re so cute! Love that colorful necklace, too!
Ahhh my trick for messy buns? Use spin pins! & then lay in bed for a little while,
haha. I don’t tease it at all, my hair would be sooo frustrating to deal with if I did.
LOVE that dress! So pretty!
Love Francesca’s for the super stylish statement pieces! The dress is adorable on you.
I’m loving that necklace. I’ve never been able to get the whole messy bun thing right on my own either, (Hairs too fine) My sis got it to cooperate once by having my lightly gel it and curl it the day before. I guess it made it more rough?
Your bun looks cute!!!
I consider too many things wardrobe staples… maybe that’s why I have too many clothes, haha. Anywho, I think your bun looks cute and I love this gray wrap dress, it looks so comfy, and your plum tights? Just darling! That is one color I do not yet have! Need it!
love love love that necklace! you look gorg!
This is such a pretty look! Your statement necklace is stunning! I have not attempted the sock bun yet but it would be awesome if it worked because I have really thin hair

As a nursing mom, I think I need a wrap dress too! Looks so comfy and stylish!
I’m absolutely loving your wrap dress Sandy, and the bun + necklace are the perfect touches! Hope your day is lovely. xo
Beautiful necklace! And great dress!! <3
Thanks for dropping by on my blog…
You are so cute!
For a messy bun to work for me, I never ever (NEVER!) use a comb or brush on it. Air dry it while you are putting your makeup on, etc, and then when you gather the damp hair back for a messy bun, only use your fingers to pull the hair back. And don’t think too hard about it
Very cute
