Bounce Back from Damaging Hair with Garnier Whole Blends

I don’t know about you, but I love experimenting with my hair. Well, I probably don’t do it as much as some others, because my hairstyles tend to end up looking the same after awhile, HA! But growing up, I would always love dyeing my hair brown or blond, getting highlights, and even perms. One time when I went to Taiwan, I got a straight perm and it totally fried my hair, that I had to go back for them to fix it! And then throughout college, I would go to Los Angeles and get a digital curly perm so I could always have waves. And now, I have ombre colored hair by Emma’s Parlour and I curl my hair once in awhile.  However, I know that all the color and heat can’t be great for my hair, as my goal is always to have soft and shiny hair, that’s like my DREAM! Lately though, I have done a few things to try and bounce back from damaged hair and I wanted to share a few of my tips.

1. Shampoo smartly. I always here it time and time again, that you should not shampoo every day. I am getting better about just doing it every other day and I think this has helped. Also, using a repairing shampoo such as the Garnier Whole Blends Honey Treasures has been amazing. It smells amazing with royal jelly, honey, and propolis extracts fragrances and strengthens my hair. I’ve noticed that with use of the Conditioner as well, my hair is softer these days.

2. Turn down the heat. Using a lot of styling tools and heat can definitely damage hair. I usually just let my hair air dry but if I need to blow dry it, I put it on a lower heat setting and don’t blow dry it all the way through until it’s dry. I LOVE LOVE curling my hair, but I usually limit to doing it 2-3 times a week, for special events, etc. Normally I just wear my hair straight (without the use of a straightener).

3. Use a repairing treatment every so often. Once a week or so, instead of the traditional conditioner, I use the Garnier Whole Blends Honey Treasure Repairing Mask in my hair after a shampoo. You just leave it in for 3 minutes or so, then rinse. I definitely find that my hair is silkier and smoother after use.

4. Get a trim. Split ends are a hair’s worst enemy, plus it doesn’t look great either. Getting a trim every so often, I think hair stylists recommend like every 8-12 weeks, is a good thing for your hair. I’m not going to lie, sometimes I would stretch that time period and go a little longer, but honestly, I’ll just do it more often for the head massage I get during the wash. 😉

5. Keep hair styles simple. Because we already know that using products can be damaging to hair, that also goes for styling products and hair spray. If you are trying to restore your damaged hair, I would keep to simple hair styles for awhile that don’t require product. Some examples are just hair down, a pony tail, or a fishtail braid.
