I’m back to mixing patterns today with chevron and polka dots – quite possibly my two fave patterns of all time.  Stripes is a close close, very close third.  Oh and florals too.  Who am I kidding, my fave patterns probably change daily.  The weather is consistently hot these days (with a few showers and thunderstorms here and there) which means when I come home from work, I immediately change into shorts,  and which also means we have double the laundry, especially since I work out 3-5 times a week now too! And apparently I need to spend some more time in the sun in my shorts, as my legs are pasty white, sorry for blinding you all!

I told you last week I was living in maxi skirts and I really wasn’t kidding.  I’m apparently living in hats as well.  These days, my summer is getting so filled up with activities that sometimes I hardly have time to do my hair, so a hat is the perfect accessory to fix that problem!  In my last maxi skirt outfit, I wore my shirt tucked into my skirt with a belt on top, but this time, I decided to do shirt on top of skirt and belt on top to change up the look.  What do you think?  I think the belt on top really makes this outfit more interesting.

It’s been an amazing weekend so far with family in town and lots of fun kid’s and outdoor activities!  What I love about Summer the most with the weather being so hot and all, is going to the beach/lake/pool, outdoor concerts, eating ice cream, brunch and going to BBQs!  This look is just perfect for doing all those things and you know what?  It was styled by my husband, yes, kudos to him.  But seriously, can we talk about the dress?  It’s my first “mirrored” piece of clothing and I am in love w/ the print.  It truly reminds me Hawaii every time I wear it… oh how I wish I could go back there soon.  When I asked my husband what to wear with this dress, he told me to wear a floppy hat, a tote and wedges and that is exactly what I did.    See, I listen to him, sometimes.  This outfit really does top the list for one of my favorites.  And it’s one of the looks that I’m submitting for the Wallis Summer Stylist Facebook Contest!  If you like this look, please VOTE for me here.  Hope you all had a wonderful Father’s Day weekend!

After many months of calling you Mama… you are now finally his Ba Ba (Dad in Chinese)!

Well, we are about to have a fun-filled and busy weekend ahead of us.  These three little boogers (siblings/cousins) are going to be reunited once again!  There will be lots of pool time, zoo time, aquarium time, and hopefully lots of good food without any of it on the floor!    Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and…

So I may have just bought these silky patterned shorts from ASOS and couldn’t resist putting together a little inspiration board with one fun way of styling them.  I am just in LOVE with how cobalt blue looks paired against black and I thought I’d throw a little peachy pink into this look to make it a bit more feminine.  I’d love to hear, what is your technique for styling your clothes?  Do you put together inspiration boards?  Do you lay everything out on the floor and mix and match and see how everything looks?  Or do you start with one piece in mind that you want to wear for the day and go from there?
