{MEET NGAN}

1) Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started creating such pretty jewelry?
My name is Ngan and I live in a Kansas City suburb with my husband and 3 children, all under the age of 5 (well, with the exception of my husband..ha!). I’ve been making jewelry for myself for as long as I can remember, but it was during graduate school that I started designing versatile staple pieces for myself, mainly out of the necessity to minimize the amount of jewelry I had while maximizing each piece’s style potential. I received such great feedback about them that when our first child was born almost 5 years ago and I decided to be a stay at home mom, I viewed it as an opportunity to pursue my love of jewelry making and take it to the business level.

2) What are your favorite color combinations?
I’m a huge fan of navy or teal combined with anything. In my opinion, every single color on the spectrum looks amazing with teal. I also love more unusual combinations, such as peach, chartreuse, and charcoal. Add a pop of cobalt and you’re good to go! I’m super excited that burgundy is back this fall because that is an elegant complement to so many colors! Any time I’m stuck in a color rut, I visit Color Collective (http://color-collective.blogspot.com/) and am instantly inspired.

3) What are you looking forward to doing this Fall?
Favorite fall traditions in our family include apple picking, visiting the pumpkin patch, making Halloween costumes, and going to the Renaissance Festival. We also just enjoy taking walks through wooded trails, breathing in the crisp fall air, and crunching through some leaves.

4) What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
I think the more accurate question would be “what isn’t my favorite flavor?” I don’t think you can disappoint me with ice cream. Yep, it can’t be done.

    For NV Designs, I would love to see more in the mixed metals/base metals (copper, bronze) sections. I’d also love to see more opaque gemstones used, so they don’t just look like glass.

    I just love it all!! From eNVe I like the Tiny Ruby Drop and 14kt gold fill delicate gemstone necklace, and from Daily Does I love the Fresh Air – pale mint ivory smoke and gold necklace!!
