Our New Home Big Reveal: Master Bedroom Design Ideas by Utah fashion blogger Sandy A La Mode

I am so excited to share our master bedroom design ideas with you today! From the first moment we moved in, I knew that I wanted to do something fun to our main wall of the bedroom. I decided to have a contractor build a board and batten wall off of things I saw on Pinterest and I AM IN LOVE! It’s one of my favorite features of the room! I think it really gives the room an extra something, don’t you think? And the best part of redoing our master bedroom had to be the fact that we upgraded from a Queen to a King bed! Yes, you guys, we FINALLY got a King bed and we will never go back. I don’t know why it took us so long to get one, but I am so so happy we did. I love the extra space!

We normally do shop at Bed Bath & Beyond for your basic towels, kitchen supplies, and we even had them as our wedding registry. But did you know that they have tons of great furniture too? I did not, until recently and it just opened up a whole new set of home decor doors as another place to shop! They have beds, all the bedding you could need, night stands, pillows, just so many things to fill up your whole house! The in-store and online shopping experience make Bed Bath & Beyond an unexpected place to find unique products. They even have a Magnolia Home line for those who are a fan of Chip and Joanna Gaines. I just discovered all of this so just had to share about it as I share with you my master bedroom design ideas. With the new bed size, we got some Wamsutta PimaCott sheets which are made of luxury pima cotton and seriously a dream to sleep on. The fabric is extremely durable and resistant to tears, the white color lasts a long time (we’ve used it for a few months now), and they honestly get softer with each wash! They have sheet sets in a variety of colors to fit your decor needs, pillows cases, pillows and comforters.

One thing about our master bedroom is that it is north facing so it actually does not get a lot of light besides one window. But that window doesn’t have a lot of direct sunlight coming into it. So that is why I chose to stick to a lighter palette or whites and greys for my master bedroom design ideas, but wanted to add a pop of blue color. I also love the look of plants in rooms and plan to fill up my whole house with them… even if they are the faux kind. 😉 Also, the barn door that you see was already there from when we moved in and was actually one of my fave features of my entire house! And the grey goes perfect with my master bedroom / home vision! Behind it, is our master bathroom, which I will share later on!

Special shoutout to my friend Jill of Hot Pink Style for helping me style this space, yet again! 🙂
