Ever since I became a fashion blogger, it really did open up my eyes to all of the fashionable shops out there.  One that I have recently discovered in past years is Boden.  I’ve gotten a handful of Women and Boys clothing from there, but have yet to get some Men pieces as well.  It is a British clothing brand and you know that Europe is always one step ahead of the U.S. in fashion (and many other things)!  Just looking at their site makes me so happy because they’ve got lots of colorful options to brighten up any wardrobe and add a splash of color to a “sea of blah” wardrobe.  Some of my favorite features of the site are buyer reviews, the fact they have sizes R and L and how it lists if an item is in stock, out of stock or low in quantity.  They’ve also got a complete the look section over on the right when you’re looking at a product page and not gonna lie, that’s caught my eye a time or two.

When I first saw this Nancy Dress in Blue Riviera print, I was just drawn to the light colors, the gorgeous and unique pattern and the fact that the dress would be forgiving around the waist.  When I received it and put it on, it immediately took me to the beach… (I seriously wish I could go to a beach right now, too bad I live in Missouri)!  The only thing missing was a neutral beach tote, in which I’m trying to convince my husband to let me buy.  :)

Have you shopped at Boden before?

shopbop sale

It’s that time again for the Shopbop Friends and Family sale (I believe it comes around twice a year?)!  They are offering 25% off full priced and sale priced items (some designer exclusions apply) with code INTHEFAMILY14.  Today is the LAST DAY to shop this sale so don’t forget to pick up your favorites!  If you haven’t shopped at Shopbop before, they’ve got a wide range of items varying from low to high price points, a variety of designers from independent to mainstream ones, and a great selection of styles!  Above is a list of items that I’ve fallen in love with just browsing their site.  I love it when sites share the love with their family + friends. :)

I wore this outfit for Day 1 of Go Blog Social.  I love it because I feel like I could wear this outfit into my Grandma days.  It’s got a hint of vintage crochet and floral pants that could either be real stylish or real old lady like depending on the current trend of the season.  But for now, we’ll go with stylish.  These actually do happen to be maternity pants from one of my fave places ever to get maternity clothing, ASOS.

And this is one of the first times I have actually worn by Chanel shoes out that my husband got for me for my birthday last year!  It’s been too cold, snowy, bad weather-y to be able to wear them and I’m so happy that I can finally happily wear them without having to worry (although I’ll need to be aware of Spring rain)!  I just absolutely don’t want to get any marks or water on them.  Do you have shoes that you are too scared to wear because you don’t want to ruin them?  Please tell me I’m not the only one!

A couple of weeks ago, I was invited to the grand opening of a new ULTA Beauty store at Aspen Square in Overland Park, KS.  The night was filled with makeup (duh!), a free braid bar, a personalized skin consultation by Dermalogica, yummy snacks and drinks, and great music!  One thing that I learned about my skin was that my face was a bit dehydrated and a good moisturizer would go a long way.  I was hesitant about getting my hair braided because I hadn’t washed it in a few days, but my friend’s persuaded me to do it and the stylist ended up saying that “dirty” hair was better for holding style and updos anyways!  For the grand opening, we were offered a 20% off discount so you can be sure I took advantage of it.  I stocked up on some more Bare Minerals foundation (been using this for years) and finally scored the Urban Decay Naked3 palette that I’d been eyeing for quite some time now.

ULTA Beauty is the largest beauty retailer in the United States that provides a one-stop shop for cosmetics, fragrance, haircare, skincare, bath and body products and salon styling tools, as well as salon haircare products.  Their brands range from affordable brands that you can find in drugstores to prestigious brands that are only seen in higher-end beauty retailers.

In addition to selling products, ULTA Beauty also offers a full-service salon in all of its stores.  The menu consists of anything from hair cut, color and style to Dermalogica skin treatments to eyelash extensions.  All of their Salon Pros go through extensive training to make you feel fabulous!

For those frequent ULTA Beauty shoppers, having an ULTAmate Rewards card is the way to go.  For every dollar spent, you will earn 1 point.  These points can be redeemed online or in stores to receive dollars off future merchandise purchases.  And if you spend $400 or more a year at ULTA Beauty you’ll reach Platinum status and be able to earn points even faster.

I had so much fun playing with makeup, trying things on and getting my hair did.  Here’s a little video that Erin of Pretty, Polished, Perfect., Megan of Chasing Davies and myself put together of our visit to Ulta Beauty!

And now the best part, Erin, Megan and I are offering ONE lucky winner a $100 gift card to ULTA Beauty!

And this is the fourth and final installment of “Dressing The Bump” for “is she pregnant or just fat beginning of second trimester” period of pregnancy.  :)  This is one of my absolute favorite ways to dress up a bump… and it’s with a maxi dress.  If I could wear a maxi dress every day for the rest of my pregnancy, I probably would.  Dresses are great because they are a whole outfit in themselves.  The way some of them (like this one) molds to the bump is just wonderful and not having to shave your legs is a real bonus.
