I like to call this my “back to school” outfit even though I’ll probably never ever go back to school every again. Studying and exams, no thank you! I’d rather work and make money, please. But I think it’s the Converse sneakers and stripes and layers that remind me of this being a “school” outfit. It’s kind of got a Fall vibe to it as well which is when everyone’s going back to school. The morning traffic is just getting to be a little bit busier these days and there’s more kids out and about.

One interesting thing about the daycare that we picked for Austin is that they also transition the little kids by “school year”. This is interesting because most daycares/schools we’ve seen, the kids under 5 will transition to the next class on or around their actual birthdays, but this one transitions by school year. Austin has these little girl friends that hold his hand when he arrives at school and help him zip up his jacket when we pick him up and it’s the sweetest thing ever. It’s kind of sad to think that just when he started making friends, many of them will be transitioning up to the next class and others will be transitioning into his. I just hope that in my Mama heart he won’t be too sad and will be able to make new friends quickly.

First of all, we can’t get enough of this mountain view that is walking distance from our house.  It’s actually a horse trail too and once in awhile we’ll see people horseback riding our horses neighing, it’s the highlight of my son’s night if that happens!  And second of all, this hi-lo tank dress is the softest thing ever and I love it for maternity and non-maternity (it’s actually a non-maternity dress)!  The colors pop, the fit is flattering for all, and did I mention it was soft?  Oh yea I already did.

Mix & Match Fashion

Whoa, we’ve reached 37 weeks (full term, baby) in this pregnancy and sometimes I still sneak in wearing heels once in awhile when I’m feeling fancy. ;) I am happy to report that my belly button has not changed from an innie to an outie and although I feel drained from energy a little bit (like from walking stairs or just doing too much), overall I am feeling good. At my last appointment, the doctor said he could see the baby coming 1-2 weeks early, eeks, which COULD mean next week! But really, I know it’s up to the baby and with all the sweets and stuff that I eat, I wouldn’t be surprised if she wants to stay inside just a little bit longer, HA!

This past Summer I may have gone overboard in the kimono department, but the best thing about them is that I can wear them into Fall. And gosh, it’s already starting to feel like Fall over here in Utah. This is so weird to me because in Kansas City, end of August is usually like 100 blazing degrees and over here it’s already sitting pretty in the 70/80s. People tell me we’re only going to have a few weeks of this awesome weather and then snow and Winter will be here before I know it, eeks!!! I guess this is what we get for living by the mountains~!  But the thing I am really excited about with the cooler weather is bringing on the booties again. Booties or boots might be my fave category of shoe to be honest… they are comfy, keep your feet warm and I just think they look sexy.

What’s your favorite fashion trend for Fall? Is it booties, scarves, layers?

You guys.  I haven’t met a better legging or skirt than the Agnes & Dora ones that I own.  I was first introduced to this smooth like butter material in a bottom by Kaylynn from Among the Young at an event that I attended.  I sat there for hours (OK prob more like minutes but it felt like hours) digging through her stash of leggings trying to find the perfect pattern. I landed on a camo pair and have worn them every week since. I don’t exactly know what the material is made from, but it is the SOFTEST, SMOOTHEST thing I ever did own, seriously.  And the best part is that it is super stretchy, so leggings and skirts alike fit well over my HUGE bump and they aren’t really meant for maternity wear (but they totally work, bonus)!

Psst, special shout out to my girl Gentri Lee for snapping these pics for me, so glad we got to meet up IRL and hang out twice!!  ;)
