A couple weeks ago, a kids labels and gift brand called Stuck On You reached out to me and sent me some products for Austin.  Their site is full of items for labeling your children’s items in ensuring they don’t get lost at daycare or any public place you go as well as some very neat and innovative kid’s gifts!  I’ve been wanting to do a post about how we prepare for daycare on a weekly basis and some tips and tricks to make life easier.  Hopefully this can be helpful for other parents whose kid’s are about to start daycare or who just need some time-saving tricks in the mornings – you know us parents could all use those!

1. Label children’s clothing with iron-on clothing labels and set out outfits for the week on Sunday evening.  Just ask my husband, but I get pure joy by picking out Austin’s outfits for the week.  I just look at the weather forecast for the week and plan out his outfits accordingly.  His teachers have always said to us that Austin is the best dressed kid in school and that makes this Mama proud.  He has colored pants in every color of the rainbow, graphic tees, patterns and tons of colors for tops.  He simply has more clothes than my husband too, heh.  I do this on Sunday evening as we get him ready for bed and as he grows older, I’ll let him pick an outfit or two for himself too.

2. Pack the things they need to bring to school for the week on Sunday evening (as well).  Make sure backpacks are labeled with bag tags so they don’t get mixed up with other kid’s backpacks. We wash his sheets for his cot and his blankie each weekend and put it in his backpack to bring with him. We also bring extra pants and underwear for potty training. I do this after he goes to bed on Sunday night and make sure my husband puts it in his passenger seat of his car so he doesn’t forget when he drops Austin off at daycare on Monday morning.

3. In the summer time, make sure to send a drink bottle to daycare with your child.  After play in the sun, they need to remember to keep hydrated!

Do you have any tips for making weekly prep for daycare easier?

It’s not often that I’m wearing heels, stiletto heels, these days, but when I do, it’s only for going out!  I love the look of pairing a graphic tee (can’t get enough of these things!) with skinny jeans/leggings, heels, statement jewelry and jacket if cold.  It says you’re trying, but not too hard.  Ummm… excuse the little bit of maternity band peeking out of the top of my pants there, whoops.  I still haven’t invested in one of those Bella Band things yet, maybe I should…

I wore this outfit to a friend’s baby shower the other weekend and it’s the kind of outfit I want to wear every single day as long as the temps are over 65 degrees.  Maxi dress, cardigan (if slightly chilly), wedges… the 3 perfect ingredients to a great Spring/Summer outfit.  Yes, you’ve seen these wedges a bunch already lately and you will most likely be seeing them every week on the blog until I wear them out.  And if you didn’t know, I have a love for Conversation Pieces and this dress only reminds me more of a my deep love for that shop!

Ever since I became a fashion blogger, it really did open up my eyes to all of the fashionable shops out there.  One that I have recently discovered in past years is Boden.  I’ve gotten a handful of Women and Boys clothing from there, but have yet to get some Men pieces as well.  It is a British clothing brand and you know that Europe is always one step ahead of the U.S. in fashion (and many other things)!  Just looking at their site makes me so happy because they’ve got lots of colorful options to brighten up any wardrobe and add a splash of color to a “sea of blah” wardrobe.  Some of my favorite features of the site are buyer reviews, the fact they have sizes R and L and how it lists if an item is in stock, out of stock or low in quantity.  They’ve also got a complete the look section over on the right when you’re looking at a product page and not gonna lie, that’s caught my eye a time or two.

When I first saw this Nancy Dress in Blue Riviera print, I was just drawn to the light colors, the gorgeous and unique pattern and the fact that the dress would be forgiving around the waist.  When I received it and put it on, it immediately took me to the beach… (I seriously wish I could go to a beach right now, too bad I live in Missouri)!  The only thing missing was a neutral beach tote, in which I’m trying to convince my husband to let me buy.  :)

Have you shopped at Boden before?

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Boden through their partnership with POPSUGAR. While I was compensated by POPSUGAR to write a post about Boden, all opinions are my own.

It’s that time again for the Shopbop Friends and Family sale (I believe it comes around twice a year?)!  They are offering 25% off full priced and sale priced items (some designer exclusions apply) with code INTHEFAMILY14.  Today is the LAST DAY to shop this sale so don’t forget to pick up your favorites!  If you haven’t shopped at Shopbop before, they’ve got a wide range of items varying from low to high price points, a variety of designers from independent to mainstream ones, and a great selection of styles!  Above is a list of items that I’ve fallen in love with just browsing their site.  I love it when sites share the love with their family + friends. :)
