Rawrs – T-Shirt Giveaway!

Today I am super excited to bring you this awesome t-shirt giveaway, where there will be not 1, not 2, not 3, not 4, but FIVE WINNERS!! Dai, the mastermind and illustrator behind Rawrs, who happens to be my friend Diana’s brother, was always a doodler in class and daydreamed about giant robots and aliens.  The shop was created out of a little anger, some sketches, and some really soft t shirts.  And just recently he launched this t shirt line (soon to have toys as well) and it was debuted at the New York Comic Con 2010 just last week!

{MEET THE ARTIST}

1) Tell us a little bit about yourself and your shop.

Hi Sandy. I’m an illustrator/animator making a living in the advertising industry. The truth is working in digital makes you forget how nice it is to actually make something tangible. T-shirts and toys are probably the only things I really buy and collect anymore. I’ve wanted to make both ever since the urban vinyl scene started blowing up.

Rawrs is an art and apparel brand based on my creations. I love that I get to combine two things I love into a single object that others can enjoy. In my opinion the t-shirt is the perfect vehicle to kick off Rawrs. They can be fashion, function, and are usually the most comfortable piece of clothing we put on each day.

2) Where do you draw your inspiration from?

For me, inspiration comes unexpectedly and at random. A good majority of my inspiration is rooted in video games, b-movies, and comic books of the 80’s and 90’s. Back then we had to get bootleg VHS tapes to watch anime and hours were burned playing street fighter at the arcade.

3) What do you like to do in your free time?

Besides playing with my 1 year old daughter mackenzie (who hello hula is based off of), I enjoy watching football and going to the movies like most other people. Once the family goes to bed I usually break out the sketch pad and escape to my own world.

    So – I love this stuff.

    I met the guys from Rawrs at ComicCon, bought a few of their shirts. I couldn’t -NOT- buy one (or two).

    I’ve already worn each multiple times. On top of that – I read the entire story behind Rawrs.

    These are shirts that you will want to wear everywhere, shirts that make you feel fucking incredible.

    I want moar, I’ve become a loyal Rawrs geek.
