Miscellany Monday – First One of 2011!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

It’s been quite a few weeks since I’ve linked up my randomness, so here goes!

{1} Blogger meet-up over BBQ
Back in December, my husband and I hung out with Danni, from oh, hello friend and her husband Nick (this was our second meet-up)!  They were in Kansas City for the holidays and we took them to our fave BBQ restaurant, Oklahoma Joe’s.  We waited in line for an hour but it is so worth it.  After all, this joint was named 1 of the 13 places to eat before you die by Anthony Bourdain.

{2} My Anthony Bourdain Sighting
Speaking of him, I actually saw him in person back in April 2009 while I was eating at one of my favorite restaurants in Cairo, Egypt called Abou Tarek.  He filmed part of Egypt series of No Reservations there, unfortunately, I’m not shown in that episode though, darn!  Actually, when I saw him I didn’t even know who he was, but my friend told me he was popular foodie that had a TV show.  I’m glad I always have my camera with me and took this picture because I aspire to visit his 13 places to eat before you die, Anthony, you are my idol.

{3} Blogger Meet-up over Indian Food
Sorry, I digressed a little bit reminiscing about my business trips to Egypt… now where were we, oh yes!  A few weeks ago, I met up with the lovely Piper from Reviving Remnants.  We chatted about blogging, tweeting, running a shop, and life over Indian food.  She’s opening up a shop very soon and gave me a few items that she’ll be listing in her shop! 🙂

{4} Skype Date with our Nephew
It makes me sad that we live so far away from our nephew.  We only see him a few times a year (in the past two years) and it’s always so hard to say goodbye.  Thank goodness for Skype and being able to see him more frequently!

{5} One Year Blogiversary Celebration!
As you all know, my one year blogiversary was last Wednesday.  You may not have known but my husband and I went out to celebrate for it.  My favorite part of the celebration was the tower of onion rings!!  And then I had to pay for it with an intense workout at the gym…

{6} A Taste of my own Medicine
Marvin just got new Samsung Transform cell phone and was glued to it all weekend.  Now I know how he feels when I’m stuck in front of the computer working on blog posts, editing pictures, and sometimes only half listening to what he says…

{7} Jojo’s GQ pose
I’m not sure if there is anyone else out there who loves their stuffed animal kids as much as my husband and I love ours.  Here’s our oldest child posing for the cover of GQ magazine.  Feel free to send me a self-addressed envelope and he’ll sign his autograph for you.

Ready, set, GO! Tell me something random about your weekend!
