{MEET ASHLEY}
1) Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hey there! I’m Ashley Carter, I’m the gal behind Ashley Carter Designs and the owner of a little fabric shop, My Little Sunshine. I am the wife of a handsome military man, who I roam the country with as we go wherever the Air Force sends us. It makes for quite an adventurous marriage & I am so thankful for the accommodation that Etsy provides for our transient lifestyle. I love that I can take my shop & products with me wherever I go! Also about me: I love anything to do with: coffee, nutrition, Jesus, community, and craftiness!
2) What inspired you to open up shop?
My very supportive hubby gave me my first sewing machine 2 years ago and encouraged me to go out and make beautiful things! He knew my love for creativity and as I began to sew—I discovered that, I couldn’t get enough of it! It wasn’t long after that people started commenting on my creations, expressing interest in them. My husband & I discovered Etsy, and well…you can figure out the rest!
3) Who are your favorite fabric designers and what are some of your favorite collections?
You can’t be a seamstress without a deep love for fabric (ok, really it’s an obsession in my case). Learning to sew and opening up Ashley Carter Designs helped me dive into the world of designer fabric, eventually resulting in my opening up my own fabric shop:: My Little Sunshine Fabric. I hand pick my fabric, so most of what you see in my shop reflects my faves đŸ™‚ Anna Maria Horner, Riley Blake, and my newest obsession: Ty Pennington are among the list!
4) What is your favorite ice cream flavor?
Breyers Mint Chocolate Chip. Hands down.
