Today, I’m super excited to have Tricia from Mama Marchand’s Nest guest post for me!  It’s one of my new offerings for certain sponsorship packages and she’s been so kind to be the guinea pig.  😉  Seriously, if you aren’t already following Tricia, you need to now, and she’s a super fun friend to have on Twitter too, just saying.  Things are a bit crazy right now as my husband and I have been working from home and taking care of Austin this week.  Marv’s parents come back this weekend and are staying with us for 2 months so they can watch Austin, we are blessed, so blessed to have amazing grandparents for Austin!  Anyhow, thanks again Tricia for being here today!

Hi, Sandy a la Mode readers! I’m Tricia, author of Mama Marchand’s Nest and owner of Mama’s Nest Designs. I’m thrilled that Sandy asked me to guest post for her today!

Like many in the blogging community, I started my blog as a place to journal. When we found out we were pregnant in 2010, it turned into a way to keep long distance friends and family updated on our little growing family. My blog really “took off” in early 2011 and has grown by leaps and bounds! Apparently, people like to read about my thoughts on the blessings and challenges of mamahood, marriage, faith, and fashion. Who knew?!

A few random tidbits about this mama: I love coffee, yoga, baking, reading, tweeting, doing crafts with my little girl, traveling with my hubs, and I am a few weeks away from finally achieving my dream of becoming a stay at home mama!

I’ve just started participating in fashion posts (like What I Wore Wednesday) and to be honest, it still makes me a little nervous to publish my full length outfit photos. I’ve written before about how I felt like I lost my fashion senseafter I had my daughter and the challenge continues – how do I look stylish but wear something functional for chasing after a busy toddler? I found that I lived in yoga pants, t-shirts, and flip flops during my daughter’s first few months of life. With the sleepless nights of newborn-hood and changing a diaper every hour, I just couldn’t pull myself together enough to be stylish. I’m still struggling with the baby weight (two years later) and as I slowly lose it, I’m learning how to dress my curves. The truth is that I just feel better about myself and my day when I’m dressed in something I love. As I grow into my role as a toddler mama (of a girly girl, I might add), I’m developing my “new” fashion sense, too. Right now, I’m loving maxi skirts, statement necklaces, big belts, and colorful shoes. I have such admiration for fashion bloggers, like Sandy, who transition effortlessly into motherhood with their beautiful sense of fashion still in tact! I draw inspiration from them and am so thankful for their willingness to share their outfits.

Thank you, Sandy, for sharing your space with me today! I hope you’ll click over to my bloggy nest and say hello.
