When we first moved into our house, my husband and I had toyed with the idea of turning our fridge into a chalkboard fridge. What could be cooler than writing up your to-do list, drawing random pictures, and leaving each other sweet messages on one of the more frequently used appliances, yes we like to eat. But because of our basement renovation, anything fun like that had to be put to the backburner. Well guess what?? Our basement is DONE as of this week, so those things that used to be at the bottom of our list can make their way on up, woohoo! And what perfect timing that Emily from Sassy Smolak just had a post this week about her DIY chalkboard fridge, which by the way, looks TOTALLY cool! So I decided to search high and low on the web for some more chalkboard inspirations, and this, my friends is what I found… Enjoy!

P.S. Sorry if I haven’t checked out your blogs lately, it’s been a long week and an especially long yesterday… Long story short, flight was delayed going from Detroit to Chicago, now staying overnight and blogging from my hotel room (that’s how much I love you), and finally heading back home tomorrow! So excited for the weekend, all I’m going to be doing is RELAXING. Then it’s off to Orlando on Monday I go… can’t wait to meet up with Sonja from SoNgDesigns!
P.P.S. Today is the last day to get 20% off of anything in Carol Hannah’s etsy shop! Yes, she’s the designer from last season’s Project Runway. Just mention “Sandy a la Mode” and this blog post in the “Message to Seller”. I really hope that someone can take advantage of this awesome discount, her dresses are AMAZING!
P.P.P.S. Don’t forget to enter the We Heart Paper custom letterpress GIVEAWAYS (yes two) on here and Janie Hearts! You have until Monday! 🙂 Hope your weekend is FABULOUS!
That would be absolutely awesome if you turned your fridge into a giant chalkboard.
I’ve always thought about getting a few chalkboard decals so I can have them scattered around the house!

love that idea of the chalkboard fridge. i will have to head over to emily’s blog to check it out. i know you’ve been quite the busy traveler. how do you manage that pace. reading your updates on twitter tires me out already! : ) however, i think thats totally cool you can experience all those different places through your job. what an amazing opportunity! hope you get some r&r this weekend with the hubby before you take off again.
i LOVE all of these. i dream to have one wall in my house one day painted in chalkboard pain (kinda like in 500 days of summer). maybe in my art/craft room. loved this post. 🙂
such a great variety!! i’d love to use them for labels on pots, or in your office like the decals!

i’ve been loving them too!! especially when anthro posted them with their new colorful bed spreads! LOVE!
bring on the chalk!!! i so want a chalk wall in my house!
cute cute cute!!
i love the idea of chalkboards more than i actually like them though. the texture of chalk always bothered me for some reason lol. but i love the way they look!!
<3
I love the chalkboard idea! Though it would bother me to have all that chalk dust all over the floor. I’m OCD about having clean floors.
I toyed with having a chalkboard wall in our house for the girls to draw on but decided against it for two reasons 1) afraid of chalk dust everywhere, and 2) afraid the kiddos would have trouble understanding which walls are okay to draw on.
Thanks for the round up! These are all so much fun, I am in quite a chalkboard frenzy!
🙂
Sandy, I adore chalkboards! I’ve been trying to figure out how to incorporate them into our decor and you post helped me out so much! You sure sound like a busy lady…I hope you get to relax! Have a wonderful day. ♥
Great post. I was checking continuously this blog and
I’m impressed! Extremely useful info specifically the last part 🙂
I care for such info much. I was seeking this certain info for a
very long time. Thank you and best of luck.
Great post! We will be linking to this particularly great
post on our site. Keep up the good writing.
Today, while I was at work, my sister stole my iphone and tested to see if it can survive a 40 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad
is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is completely
off topic but I had to share it with someone!
Hmm is anyone else having problems with the pictures on this blog loading?
I’m trying to determine if its a problem
on my end or if it’s the blog. Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
