Today Is My Due Date!

That’s right.  Today is the day my baby is supposed to be born!  I’ve been carrying him around in his humble abode for 40 weeks now.  But he’s still comfy as ever inside my belly, although the day is not over yet!  Did you know that only like 5-10% of babies are actually born on their due date?  That’s a pretty crazy statistic but babies do have a mind of their own!  Anyhow, his eviction letter will be sent out tomorrow.  😉

At my appointment yesterday, it looked like I hadn’t progressed in cm or effacement.  Darn!  All of that walking and pineapple and spicy food didn’t work, folks haha.  BUT we did schedule an induction date of Wednesday, December 28, 2011.  So he could still come on his own before that (perhaps a Christmas baby?) or else I have a MAX of 5 days people, 5 more days to get everything done that we need to around the house and be a twosome.

Have you entered the GIVEAWAY for $50 to Shopkempt yet?

Were you or your children born before, on, or after your/their due dates?

That has to be worse than Christmas! (in a good way) I can imagine it’s so hard to wait & not know what’s going to happen. So excited for you! Merry Christmas!

you look beautiful!! NONE of my kids were born on their due date 🙂 I want to encourage you because I would cry when I didn’t make progress lol….that you can literally jump CM and change in effacement in a day. It’s crazy! Both of my girls I went from a 3-10 in 30 min. So you never know. My son was a slow progress. I was at a 6 for a few days before I had him. Hang in there, all babies are different! Before you know it you’ll be holding and loving on your little baby!!

You know, I’m not totally convinced that doing certain things will make the baby come. Didn’t work for me… I think they come when they want or when you make them! LOL

My son was born after his due date. Oh, goodness…I just realized I can’t remember his due date (blaming pregnancy brain still). I went in once thinking I was in labor but I wasn’t and then the next day we set a time to have my labor induced. Well, that night I ended up in the hospital and I was further dilated… just enough so they couldn’t send me home. I stayed in the hospital bed all night and nothing happend…then at 7 in the morning they induced…but he wouldn’t budge (was stuck pretty much) and I had a c-section around 3.

Sorry you didn’t ask our birthing stories 😉 It was more intense than that, but all to say that he came later than he was “suppose” to.

yay sandy!! wishing you a wonderful Christmas and a healthy baby.

Awww, you look as radiant as could be! Here’s hoping he comes soon, I know how exhausting these last few days are, but trust me, you’ll miss them when they’re over! Happy Christmas and congrats again!

Just skip the manger and go straight for the epidural, haha. Hopefully it’ll go smoothly and you can avoid a c-section.

WOOOOOOOO WOOOOOO! I am sooooooooo unbelievably excited for you, Sandy!!! 🙂 Can’t wait until he makes his big debut!! hehe.

  19. December 23, 2011 / 3:43 pm

He will come when you least expect it. Seriously. With my first, I had given up on waiting. I figured he was just going to live in there. And then bam. (he was late) With my 2nd, it was my last day of work and I had work to do. Little stinker! (she was early).

Can’t wait for cute little pics of your little guy!

  20. December 23, 2011 / 4:32 pm

How exciting and you look great!!
With my son I was a week and a half late. He did not want to come out 🙂

  21. December 23, 2011 / 6:24 pm

This is a tricky question! The reason being that according to the dates that I gave the doctor, we figured my delivery date was April 16th, but the little boy came early — on April 1st. But, and this is where it’s going to get graphic and I apologize, when the doctor looked at the afterbirth, she discovered some calcification which meant that it was getting old and the dates were wrong. We will never truly know when he was supposed to be born, but it was the day he was meant to be!

Hope he arrives soon! It will be the greatest Christmas gift ever!

  22. December 23, 2011 / 9:37 pm

L was born at 37 weeks but both me and my husband were born early too!
Don’t worry too much about progressing/dilation; depending on your stress level and other environmental factors you could even close up after dilating more. Just rest in happy labor thoughts and wishing your baby out 🙂 I think he’ll hear your thoughts and make his way out soon.
    Merry Christmas!

  23. December 23, 2011 / 9:52 pm

  26. December 24, 2011 / 10:04 am

Mine were both due exactly one week before their due dates. 🙂 I did a lot of walking the week leading up to them being born. Best wishes – I know you’re anxious to meet your little one!
