Today, the little boy who made me a Mama turns 3! We have survived the
terrible terrific twos, only to find that many people think that terrible threes are worse than twos. Let’s hope those people are wrong and that the worst of the tantrums are over. 😉 But tantrums and time outs aside which I know is a necessary part of growing up, I am sooo happy and blessed that this little man calls his Mama. This past year his language has exploded, he is constantly making us laugh with his funny words, sayings and songs. He is now 38 inches and 30 pounds. He is an awesome big brother to a 3.5 month old sister and is a great helper. We started potty training and to date, he has peed and pooped in the potty a handful of times but this is still a work in progress (sorry if that was TMI haha). He is obsessed with trains, cars, and transportation anything. He still continues to love the color yellow as his favorite but also likes red, green, blue and black too. He loves to eat dessert and juice (no surprise there), but also loves broccoli, noodles, chicken and rice. He is slowly but surely growing out of his “phobia to new experiences and people phase” and we see great strides in this daily. It almost makes me tear up to see him face a new experience and NOT be scared as it means he is really growing up. He loves watching Dora, Tayo and some other videos, although we still try to limit the amount he watches each day. He has a best friend at daycare named Emmy and he constantly talks about her – she even will come over to hug Austin when he leaves and helps him put on his hat, scarf and coat – cutest thing ever. But most importantly, he does bring so much joy to our lives and I am can’t wait to see his bond continue to grow with this sister this year, as his sister starts become more mobile and fun to play with!
I love you Austin and HAPPY 3rd BIRTHDAY!!
