How is your weekend so far, friends? Hope it’s well! On Saturday, we attended a Chinese New Year celebration at a friend’s place… where we ate from noon til 7PM, non-stop, no joke. And on Sunday, we’ll be heading to another friend’s house for a Super Bowl party! I’m going to be making chocolate chip cookies, no, not any old cookie, but it’ll have meat in it too, can you guess what it is? I’ll surely blog about it later!! 🙂 Are you going to be hosting or attending a party? Are you a Steelers or Packers fan? Do you watch for the game or for the commercials?
So as you can tell, I’m a little delayed on posting some of my fashion photos, if you start seeing weekend posts, you know that I have too much to share and not enough weekdays! 😉 This outfit was worn before the snow arrived (a few weeks ago) but I think it’s great for days when it’s chilly, but the sun is out. I love this dark grey sweater because it can be worn up right or off the shoulder (oh hello!) and you can pair just about any color undershirt with it to change up the look. A sales associate was wearing it when I was shopping at Forever 21 and pretty much sold me. Does that happen to you too!? Do you find yourself liking what the sales associates are wearing and asking them where it is in the store so you can get it too? Nothing better than a real life model, ya know? And the fingerless gloves, have I expressed my love for these things enough yet? I LOVE LOVE LOVE the fact that you can text in these babies with the cover off but put the cover on when I get cold. The funny thing is, I actually bought quite a few pairs of them 2 years ago when I was in London! My friend had told me that those babies were uber popular over there so I stocked up! And finally years later, the trend has finally come to the U.S. So my question to you is…
Love the fingerless gloves! I just bought a pair of coral colored ones from F21 for my trip back home and I am SO stocked to wear them with my peacockblue peacoat! Yay for cold weather!
I have no idea about the fashion in Europe but whenever I think about European fashion, I think of when I was studying abroad in Spain and once saw a woman wearing a leopard print spandex body suit. Hoping that trend doesn’t migrate over….
Aw you look so cute!!! I love the sweater and the gloves!! 😉 You have to have the ability to text! Haha.
I am LOVING this outfit!!!! Wish I could drop into F21 and buy that sweater now!
Actually I already know what is trending in Europe as far as Fall 2011-2012 goes hahaha. Being a fashion design student means having to know what the trends are a year ahead.
What is trending over there now are basically lots of sheer material for women, long empire style dresses made out of either silk/polyester/satin, and for men a lot of dark colors. Crochet like tops are going to be trending as well as large cowls/infinity scarves. As for working clothes, one designer decided to go into a more Victorian-esque collection with a 40’s-50’s pin up doll twist. More A-line skirts and bustier like tops. Lots and lots of florals in red and gold/mustard yellow.
That’s for Fall though in Europe. Right now for Spring and Summer it’s all pastel colors with nudes, camel, earthly brown tones and celestial blue with almost neon orange. 🙂
I love your outfit! 🙂
Love your sweater and especially shopping at F21!
I don’t know what’s in style in Europe, but I’ll report back when I’m in Italy next month!
Sandy!! Awww, your fingerless gloves are super cute.. and so are you. 😉 these photos are precious.. the 4th one is my favorite.
I don’t follow football and I work tomorrow, so no Super Bowl sunday for me. I do like the commercials though. 😉
Hope you’re doing well, keeping warm, and staying safe. Love ya!
xx Love & Aloha
pretty gloves!
One thing that I can think of that I see everywhere here is eternity scarves! I saw like…1 when I was in the US. Also for winter I’ve seen lots of vintage bags, those head wrap things, drapey coats…and the low cut boots. and black jeans!
I live in Wisconsin so you’d think I’d be swept up in the Packers excitement. However I really don’t like football so… I’ll be stopping at Redbox after work, hehe.
I love these too, and you look adorable in them:)
Stop by and say Hello:)
Check out my 30×30 Remix….Let’s do this!♥
I love fingerless gloves…I received a pair as a gift this year, and I cannot get over how much fun they are to wear! Your outfit is totally adorable, Sandy! Have a fantastic SuperBowl weekend! xoxo
Sadly, I don’t have much time to keep up on the latest fashion trends, though I do adore fingerless gloves too! There’s not much reason to wear them here in San Diego, but they were perfect for NYC. And these photos of you are great! I really love your style.
I do not watch the Super Bowl mainly because I hate football. haha! But I do like to tune in every once in a while and I hope I catch a couple of the commercials. LOVE the outfit, so cute. ♥
xo.
And they go so well with your outfit! I’m going for the packers to win, and I watch for the game and the commercials…
I <3 fingerless gloves! The necklace was a great touch as well!
I love fingerless gloves, but what stuck me about your picture is the fact that I have the exact same sweater that you are wearing. It’s super comfy (I thought about wearing it today).
Love the sweater! And I’m going to guess bacon for the chocolate chip cookies… if so, I’m so jealous that I don’t have any of the ingredients for it on hand (except for the bacon, haha). I’m going to a friend’s party for the Superbowl, but more for the social aspect than football. Hope you have fun at yours!
CUTE!!! I love fingerless gloves…. ! Bacon chocolate chip cookies? You got MY attention! YUM! I am just hoping for a good game, great halftime show and even better commercials! 🙂
i love the sweater! i always find myself asking sales associates at stores if they bought their outfit at the store (usually they say yes and are excited about the compliment). anyhoo! today im watching the game with the bf, ill be making some tasty appetizers and keeping track of the commercials. our team (da bears) didnt make it to the superbowl so the actual game will be minor..ah well. have fun! xoxo jcd
Fingerless rock my face off!! I wore some handknit ones for a Rock the Frock photo session. They are one of my favorite cold weather accessories.
You look so adorable in yours! Thanks for sharing =)
You look super cute. Love the sweater and, of course, the fingerless gloves!

What cute gloves! I actually have a pair for the office when it’s so cold that my fingers are too numb to type. I call them my coding gloves. 🙂
And this sweater is lovely! I love the fact that it can be layered.
You look gorgeous! Love this look and I love fingerless gloves too! They’re perfect for Los Angeles because it never gets cold enough to wear gloves, but they’re still so much fun to wear!
Ooooh…..I’m a huge fan of fingerless gloves too! I’m really curious about this cookies of yours with meat in it…hmmm….can’t wait to read about that one. And as for the fashion trends in eu–i’m so clueless as to what they are right now but I do know that we’re pretty late in the fashion game. I went to the philippines and even there they were much more fashion foward….now, why is that?
I love fingerless gloves! I didn’t know that they are “trendy” now, I think they’ve been around for awhile but more people are being introduced to them now because everyone has their touch screen cell phones now 🙂
And seeing stuff on mannequins and sales associates always makes me want to buy the stuff! but then the other way around too, like, if something was ugly on the 5’9″ super skinny mannequin, it’s not going to look good on normal people!
funny, each time i was at the mall i would pick up a pair of fingerless gloves then i would put them back and i never did end up buying a pair. hopefully next winter season.
oh, the house was divided! 50/50 steeler and packers fans!
And have I told you how cute you are? 🙂
I love the fingerless gloves, too.
Happy Sunday, Lovely!
fingerless gloves are great because you can still text! LOL
That’s so funny that you mention the European trends frolicking over to the US. So very true. I was in Ukraine a couple of times over the years, and the trends I saw in Kiev definitely came around in the US… Just months/years later.
When I was in Europe in May, all the ladies wore shorts with tights underneath and ballet flats, with a sweater. I’m pretty sad that this look has yet to make it to America! Very elegant, and classy
i love fingerless gloves..they are with 24/7 during the winter months.
I received a pair of fingerless gloves for Christmas & I adore them! How did we live without them?!
very cute. that purple really pops!
