If I were a lumberjack, this is what I’d wear to work.  Too bad I don’t know a thing about harvesting trees.

You see my new mustard yellow knit hat?  Well, it was made just for me, by my mother-in-law!  And I LOVE IT!!  My mother-in-law is like the craftiest person ever, she arranges flowers, sews (she’s the one who taught me), knits, crochets, cooks amazing dishes, she can seriously do anything crafty.  I honestly wish I had at least HALF of her talents, each time we meet up she teaches me something new, and it’s awesome.  Lucky for me, when my husband was younger, he helped her out in the kitchen… and now, he’s an amazing cook.  I bet you didn’t know that when we first met (6 years ago), he literally cooked every meal for me as my food repertoire consisted of ramen and spaghetti back then, but obviously I’ve learned how to cook a few more things since then.  And just for the record, a man that can cook is DEFINITELY a keeper.  😉

Oh and you know that remix (each week try and wear something you haven’t worn in 6 months) I talked about in this post?  The vest would be considered my oldie!  🙂

Who does the cooking in your household?

I LOVE this outfit!! I love flannel and the brown sweater and boots with it make it look so feminine at the same time! I have a shirt that I refer to as my Lumberjack shirt too! Ha! 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying your Saturday!

Thanks for tweeting the iPad giveaway…I entered! Wow does that girl have a bunch of giveaways!!

Re: my previous comment…I realize it’s Sunday. Hope you have a nice Sunday!

Also, I do ALL the cooking. My BF couldn’t even think of it. He wouldn’t even know where to start. I wish he did…it would be nice to trade off.

LOVE that hat. Right after I saw it I started searching for the shop you must have bought it at – aw, dang. haha My mother-in-law is actually the person who got me into sewing, as well! She bought me my first sewing machine for my birthday last year! 🙂

  5. March 6, 2011 / 10:27 am

You look so cute! I love the plaid and the layers.

  6. March 6, 2011 / 10:30 am

i love the yellow knit hat!! you have such a sweet mother in law. and the plaid shirt looks great on you.

unfortunately i do all the cooking in my house. but the bf does know how to cook spaghetti if we get desperate. 🙂

  7. March 6, 2011 / 10:38 am

I love how you dressed up the flannel with the sweater and belt, and I probably don’t even need to tell you how much I ADORE that hat. So cute!

Also, I do pretty much all the cooking, but my boyfriend likes to “help” aka hand me spoons and put away the ingredients when I’m done with them. UNLESS it’s summer and we’re grilling – then it’s all him 🙂

  8. March 6, 2011 / 10:51 am

You look adorable, Sandy!!! And, of course, your necklace looks mighty cute as well 😉

Ahh love your outfit you always dress so cute Sandy! I especially love the hat I have a weakness for yellow~

As for the cooking, it;s me most of the time sometimes my mom (since we live with my family) and sometimes my dad or husband will cook. It’s very rare we get the younger one to cook for everyone but my sister will cook breakfast sometimes.

  10. March 6, 2011 / 10:55 am

    so sweet!beutiful outfit!!!xoxo

  11. March 6, 2011 / 10:59 am

I do 99% of the cooking on our house. I know Ben can cook, but I enjoy it so generally I do it all. In return he does all the dishes though, so I think it works out great.

    love the hat!!

  12. March 6, 2011 / 11:05 am

I love that hat! I can’t wait to put my hat design on etsy! The cooking during the week is mainly done by moi, but Tom (fiance) does the cooking during the weekend usually, like lunch and breakfast.

I’m a lucky girl too and my husband does most of the cooking! He works from home and is known to have dinner ready for me when I get home from work! Cute outfit!!

  14. March 6, 2011 / 12:21 pm

I definitely do the cooking in my household. 😉 But my hubby does the cleaning.. hehehe. I think it’s def an even trade off! He can do simple things.. like cooking eggs, spaghetti, toast… lol.

I love what your mother in law made you! The cable knit pattern is fabulous. My teacher just taught me how to knit. Very basic, but it’s a stepping stone.. and I love it! I think it’s even better than crochetting. 🙂 And as for the rest of your look… super cute. I love the pose on the stump. You are so cute Sandy!

I hope you’re enjoying the rest of your weekend. Hug.

    xx Love & Aloha

I LOVE the hat!!! It adds such a cute pop of color to the whole adorable outfit.

I do most the cooking, but the husband is a genius on the grill, so we do that every once in a while:)

Your style is so classy & classic. Love it. My boyfriend & I are both learning to cook, so we split it up a lot, or we do it together. We’re workin’ on it!

  26. March 6, 2011 / 8:00 pm

You’d be the cutest lumberjack in the room! I like your layering, and that hat looks great on you! Go yellow!

  27. March 6, 2011 / 8:05 pm

Cute! I really like the outfit. And the hat is adorable. I would love on similar.

And I have just bought a plaid shirt like that and I love it already!

I’m the cook but only because I’m a little bit better than my hubby. Still don’t cook all that well. x

  28. March 6, 2011 / 9:11 pm

Love your hat Sandy! For some reason, I can’t quite see you as a lumberjack though… you are just too cute. 🙂

Chris and I like to cook together. He is so creative in the kitchen, it’s fun to see what he comes up with! With him deployed, my meals are much less exciting. Reason #20448 that I can’t wait for him to return! 🙂

  29. March 6, 2011 / 9:17 pm

You look so cute! What a lucky gal you are to have a MiL who makes you of the mo’ hats like that! Hope you had a terrific weekend Sandy. : )

  30. March 6, 2011 / 9:48 pm

Aww, I love your hat! I bought one almost just like it from F21 when I was in NYC last October because it was SO COLD! I fell in love with it and wore it absolutely everywhere. The hubs and BFF kept calling me ‘mustard head’ the whole trip. In fact, they still call me that… oh well, I’ve been called worse. 😉

  33. March 6, 2011 / 10:13 pm

You have the cutest knitted pieces! I love. Your mother-in-law is so talented 🙂
