Did you know I was a professional roller skater when I was younger? You know what my trick was? Making sure my hair was out of face with a hot pink ponytail holder. 😉 This photo always makes me smile because it reminds me of how active I was as a kid. I used to roller skate, ice skate, tap dance, do ballet, gymnastics, and Chinese folk dances. And now? My exercise is running from gate to gate in airports and an occasional workout in the hotel gym.
OMGOOOOOOOSH! You were sooooo freaken adorable, Sandy! I love the roller skates, dress, pink hairband, green…green grass…and just the very feeling of that picture. This definitely brightened up my day because it brings back memories of my childhood too. I hope you’re having beautiful Saturday! 🙂
Are those Fisher Price roller skates? I had some of those when I was little too. I also had a really cool pair of pink and white low top skates. What I would give to find some of those in my size 🙂
adorable! i was the same way as a kid. i was in soccer, taekwondo, ballet, etc. now (well, when i’m not pregnant) i almost throw up from trying to get through a tae bo workout. haha
how times change us, but hey, in heels those gate runs are a workout!
this is absolutely priceless! I love it – are those the fisher price roller skates?? totally had those.
you are adorable 🙂
You always put the best classic pictures up! Those skates are AWESOME! love it
what a cutie pie! and the gate to gate running i’m sure burns up some calories!
So so cute, Sandy!!! I always hated rollerblading and rollerskating because my parents made me wear a helmet and knee/elbow pads so I looked like a dweeb. I did, however, play lots of sports and dance/gymnastics. Now? my typing fingers get lots of exercise, hah!
So funny how time changes things….cute pic!!
I used to have those same skates! 🙂
dawww so cute 🙂 ugh i know, right? i think the same applies for me. i used to ice skate, dance, swim, play soccer and now i walk to class on campus.. lame.
you look so adorable !! 🙂 i used to be quite active myself now that I’m older I think what happened? Why’d it all stop?
so so so cute!! you were super active!! im sure running from gate to gate all day long burns a lot of calories. 😉
I love these old school pictures of you! They are so cute!
waterfall alert!! that’s what the parents used to call my ponytail right on the top of my head. thank goodness they stopped when i was 5… 😉
omg, I think I had the exact same roller skates too! and it isn’t sad how we run out of time in the day to do all those awesome things we did as kids?!
This is one of the cutest photos I have ever seen!!
OMG – you are so cute!! xx
such a cute photo! I remember those type of roller skates! It can be so tough keeping up with an exercise routine. I recently started jogging, because it’s something that I can do with the kids (jogging stroller) but between when I started that a finished college, I didn’t get hardly any exercise of any sorts!
you. are. adorable.
end. of. story.
p.s. I think my best friend had those skates. I didn’t have any so we would SHARE… i.e I wore one, she wore the other. Funny, huh?
sandy you were soooo adorable! not that i’m surprised or anything 😉
Aaaahhh look at you! Always rockin’ fashionable hair accessories even at a young age 😉
that is so hilarious, I have to say!!! I saw scrunchies at H&M the other day. UHOH was my first thought and my second was that i hope we, as women, have enough sense to not buy those!
OMG! So adorable!!! This photo doesn’t look that old, lol! Are those Fischer Price roller skates? Looks like the hot pink elastic in hair trick worked. ;p
I had those same skates!
No way! What an awesome childhood you must have had. I am still active but I know my body can handle more. Push push push!
oh so cute…I used to do a lot too as a kid…now I chase after my kids. (not the same type of workout)
It’s okay… I seriously did everything as a child too and now I’m not exceptionally good at any. But! I’m glad at how I turned out haha and you should be too! You talented crafter/blogger! 🙂
Too cute. I love all your childhood photo posts.
I have that same picture of me as a kid. just add two HUGE bandages on my knees. and a bandage on my elbow… i wasn’t so good.
Awwwwwwww!! Little Sandy!!! Adorable….
🙂
i’m pretty sure i had those exact same rollerskates!
You were such a cutie! And I love how active you are. Such a busy little girl. Now I can see how you are able to accomplish everything you do now! x
Ohmigosh this is too cute – love it! 🙂
I had those rollerskates!! Are they the Fisher Price ones where you could adjust them as your feet grew? I loved roller skating with them! Oh, it brings back memories!! I think I roller skated while wearing shirts my mom had made with “Meghan” embroidered on them and some sort of strange pattern of penguins or candies sewn onto the front.
I love the shots of you as a little one. You were soooooo adorbs!
I had those exact same roller skates!! I love your pink hair tie 😉
oh sandy! you are such a sweetheart! look at you! you haven’t changed much :). what a cutie!
j.
how cute you were in those fun blades! i used to (try) rollerskating at a local rink. i was never good but it was still so fun skating around with disco music and strobe lights. haha
Love the hot pink band 😉
ok. just adorable. perfectly adorable.
Roller-skating is also a popular sport, and it is even thought that it might soon be added to the Olympics. Skate-parks that have been designed to accommodate the resurgence of skateboarding can also be easily used for roller-skating, and skaters can pull off similar tricks and manoeuvres to skateboarders this way. Roller skate racing is also quite popular, with people competing to get from one side of an obstacle course to the other in the fastest time.;
