I’ve mixed two of the season’s hottest colors together into an outfit that is perfect for work or happy hour. I’m kind of obsessed with buying maxi skirts and blouses right now. And I am kind of running out of hangers in my closet.
Speaking of not enough room in my closet, the other weekend my friend’s and I had a clothing swap and for it being my first one, it was a lot of fun! I went in there with 97 items, gave a bunch away, and left with about 15 new items (which you should be seeing on the blog soon, you can be sure of that). Then the rest of the clothing that I didn’t want, well I thought about having a blog sale, but thought about how much work it would be to take pictures of all the items and mail them out (sorry), so I took them to Plato’s Closet next. The last time I went to Plato’s Closet, they didn’t take a single thing and I was kind of offended so I was pretty nervous this time that my clothes would get rejected again (yes, they have feelings too)… but they ended up taking 17 items and I scored $84 out of it! Not too shabby. Then finally, the rest of the items were donated to Savers.

Whoa, 17 items is a lot! Besides donating, I’ve done a couple clothing swaps now and have tried to sell things at a consignment store but I usually can’t get them to buy anything except for my husband’s clothes! Haha. I totally know the feeling of nervousness and rejection from those places. But you got $84! Yay!

I love this outfit, because it’s work-appropriate, but it’s fun too! I’m so bad at picking fun work stuff…I’d rather just go crazy and wear what I want. 😛

Can’t wait to have another clothing swap! They are so fun! I also consign a lot of clothing I don’t want anymore an use the credit to buy things from my favorite consignment shop. It’s like recycling!
