Sooo I realize it’s not Tuesday anymore but when I saw what Life With My 3 Boybarians was giving away this week on Sweet Shot Tuesdays, I just HAD to join in for the chance to win Berry Sweet Designs’ Lightroom presets!  I need all the photo editing help I can get, no joke.

As you know, last Sunday I attended my friend’s wedding in California.  It was a beautiful event with navy and peach details, nice weather, great speeches, and delicious food.  It might take me awhile to edit (very minimally) all the photos and get them posted but I wanted to share one photo I took on the red eye flight back to Kansas City on Sunday night / Monday morning.

After a few hours of on and off sleeping, I woke up around 4:18AM to find this beautiful sight outside my window.  It was the nighttime meeting up with the daytime… a beautiful sunrise horizon with the moon hovering over the set.  And if you’ll notice at the end of the wing, it’s Larry the Lynx!  Here’s a few stats about him taken from Frontier Airlines website:

• Favorite Movie: Airplane

• Favorite Pastimes: Having his whiskers trimmed, cat napping on the tarmac, really big balls of yarn

I’m not a fan of lost luggage either, Larry!  Luckily, our plane side checked luggage was not lost, yay!  We had booked a Midwest Airlines flight but since they were partners with Frontier Airlines, I got to fly my first Frontier Airlines flight ever… and lucky for me, they had Midwest’s freshly baked cookies.  I’m typically a Southwest (no baggage fees, credit & no charge for cancelled flights, easiest to earn free flights) or Delta (Biscoff cookies and b/c I have status already) gal but I do LOVE those Midwest chocolate chip cookies, YUM!  So I totally threw out a whole bunch of airline names here, so just as a disclaimer, no , I’m not affiliated with or marketing for them haha.

Taken on August 11, 2005, me and my new coworkers decided to bond over watching a Kansas City Royal’s baseball game.  When we saw Sluggerrr the Lion, we had to take a picture with him, of course!  It was a night of drinking, eating hot dogs thrown to the stands by Sluggerrr, yelling, hoping that relish would win in the ketchup vs. mustard vs. relish game, playing around in the gift shop, and just pure fun.  Unfortunately I don’t think we made an appearance on the Jumbo Tron… but that’s OK, because goodness, I was totally wearing a belly polo shirt, what the heck??  Don’t worry I’ve since donated that shirt as well as others that fit like that.

1. Remember the baby shower I blogged about back in April?  Well, baby bear Brandon was born on June 11 and here’s a couple pictures for you to ooh and aah over!

I love his facial expression in the first one (teehee!) and you can tell he will be such a HANDSOME boy in the second one!

2. I got my first spray tan ever last Wednesday!  I love how it turned out, but was a little disappointed that I couldn’t work out that night (or shower)… yea I smelled for a day.  The color didn’t really come off on my clothes or sheets or anything but when I did shower, the water was a little orange and the color settled in some more and looked real natural and  good after that!

3. Hands down, summer is my favorite season ever… mostly because I can wear dresses and sandals to my hearts’ content!  However, mosquito bites are really quite a bummer, last week I got 7 bites in 2 days, ugh.  One time when I went to Taiwan over the summer, I had 40 mosquito bites at one time, I kid you not.  I also have a real problem of scratching them until they scar… What kinds of lotions/ointments do you use to get rid tame the itch??

4. We sold Marv’s 16 year old baby – the red Toyota Corolla – to someone whose car recently got flooded in the Tennessee floods.  Marv’s a little sad to let the car go, but it was a necessary move to pay for the carpet in our basement!  And plus… there wasn’t a need to have three cars and three car insurances.

5. We just flew back from San Francisco on a red eye flight because we didn’t want to use up any vacation days.  Although it was quite brutal, we’re trying to save up days for a possible Australian vacation next year!

The City of Love – San Francisco

I couldn’t be more excited to be attending my dear friend Eafong’s wedding this weekend.  The story of how she met her fiance really proves that great things can happen when you least expect it… basically she had just gotten back from a three month business trip in Australia and was pretty exhausted.  But my other friend was throwing a vampire party and I felt the need to drag her along.  When I called her the night of the party to come out, she used the fact that she didn’t know what to wear to try to get out of coming with me.  I just told her to throw on some black clothes and that I’d pick her up at 8PM, which she finally agreed to.    Few hours into the party and I kept seeing her with this guy and I wasn’t sure if she wanted to be with him or not.  As we left the party, I asked her “Are you okay???“  because I wasn’t sure if he was a creepster or a nice guy.  Little did I know that they had already exchanged numbers and planned to have brunch the next day…. and really, the rest is history!  I’m sad that she’ll be moving away from Kansas City though, because these past five years wouldn’t have been the same without her, but I am really happy that she found her true love and gets to be with him.    Congrats Eafong + Matt!
