Nice To Meet You, Mr. Squirrel

Sweet Shot Day

Linking this post to Sweet Shot Tuesdays. Get ready for storytime, kids. Don’t worry, it’s short.

****

We had a problem.

A very very serious problem.

Until a few weeks ago, when Mr. Squirrel came along.

What was our problem you ask? It was an acorn problem.

We have these super old, big, tall oak trees and not only do they shed leaves, they leave us a ton of acorns that are quite the pain to clean up.

But since Mr. Squirrel came along, life has never been the same. You see, he eats our acorns.

Mmmm, doesn’t it look tasty?

Nom nom nom, sure is tasty!

You don’t like it when people watch you while you eat, do you?

Nope, sure don’t!

Mr. Squirrel is happy, we are happy, everyone’s happy!!!

THE END.

P.S. I don’t think I ever properly introduced my new Tokina 50-135mm f/2.8 lens to you, the lens I used to take all the above photos.  Lens meet blog, blog meet lens.

Happy Tuesday!

Hey nice shots. The wildlife in my garden are very camera shy and I really struggle to get shots like these.

What adorable photos and such a cute story. My senior mom has several little squirrel friends who help her with her gardening and I know she’d like it as well. I’m afraid, though, that my easy to use digital camera does not have extra lenses, so I’ll have to warn her I’ll not be able to get such great close-ups. 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing them for us to enjoy on this Sweet Shot Tuesday.

Zoom lenses are always fun! Once a squirrel got trapped in our house and ruined at the blinds trying to get out and it was just insanity trying to get him out! At least this squirrel was safely outside 🙂

  9. January 18, 2011 / 7:35 am

Excellent story, Sandy! I’ve always loved animals going about their daily business.

  10. January 18, 2011 / 7:36 am

Nice to meet you, lens! You do a great job 🙂
And glad to hear Mr. Squirrel has your acorn situation under control!!

  11. January 18, 2011 / 7:46 am

    A) Totally envious of your new lens. 🙂

    B) Your squirrel friend reminds me of our own little squirrel friend we found clamoring around our attic. Creepy and funny to hear him, and luckily we had a have-a-heart trap to rid our stowaway.

  16. January 18, 2011 / 9:10 am

    Love this, so cute.

  17. January 18, 2011 / 9:29 am

First off: That squirrel is SOOOOO cute!!! I love all the different photos and how you really captured the little fellow!!
Second of all: When I talk to my cats, my mum or someone else that is around, always answers for the cat. So I will say: Are you cold? It’s a little cold in here, are you warm enough?” and someone will say something like, “Nope, how about tucking me into the blankets, mom?” 🙂
Your post TOTALLY reminds me of this interaction!!! 🙂
