My Best Business Casual

We’re 3 weeks in to our sabbatical and only have 1 week left.  Why does time always have to fly when you are on vacation?  Sigh. This outfit is one that I wore to work the week before our sabbatical began.  I love it because it’s casual, stylish and dressy all at the same time.  First, I haven’t worn boot cut jeans in a long awhile but I like the way they elongate my legs so I’ll be wearing them more often.  Second, I’ve been looking for a tweed type blazer/jacket for awhile now and many that I’ve found cost an arm and a leg, but when I saw this one from H&M, I couldn’t pass it up.  Oh but the main star of the show, that necklace, wow, that necklace, isn’t it such an amazing statement piece?  It’s crafted so beautifully and I just love all the colors together.  Did you notice I matched the mauve beads in it to my cute new booties too?  I just had to.  🙂  Well, one thing I am looking forward to is dressing up business casual again for work, it’s what I look forward to each morning, ya know, dressing up for seeing clients or for sitting in front of a computer in a cubicle for 9 hours straight.  😉

Just an update on our trip, these last few days have been a whirlwind.  On Thursday we were in Hawaii, on Friday we were in California (3 hours ahead), since Saturday we’ve been in Ohio (3 hours ahead) and today was Daylight Savings (1 hour back).  And the crazy thing about it all?  I’d like to say we’re pretty good at our adjusting our schedules at a drop of a hat these days, well except baby bear Austin, but he ain’t too bad.  We also flew with him on his 2nd and 3rd flights and I don’t know how we got so lucky but he was seriously an angel on both flights.  He slept during take-off and when he woke up, he was smiling and laughing and playing with all those who sat behind and next to us!  They all said he is such a happy, friendly baby, and that he is!  I wish you could all meet him!

P.S. Stop by tomorrow for a GIVEAWAY and discount code from History and Industry – the shop where I got the necklace from!  🙂

You know that I’m a big fan of statement necklaces and this one is gorgeous! How cute that you match the mauve from the necklace to the color in your booties! A color that you don’t often see in shoes, but they look really pretty!
