Austin has now completed his second week of daycare and we’re all still getting used to the change. We’ve all gotten sick, our sleep schedules are a bit messed up, we are adjusting to the added time of drop off and pick ups and we all dread doing the drop off since he still cries each time, heart-breaking I tell ya. He started off in the baby room but is slowly transitioning into the 1 year old room. On the first day of daycare, he didn’t even nap at all, but now he is napping up to 2.5 hours, which is great! The 1 year old has toddlers his age, toys that meet his needs, and a teacher we love. We hope that he will grow to love this place and I can’t wait for the day when his face lights up when seeing his teachers instead of crying. I’ve also started taking Austin to Kindermusik class on Mondays after work. It’s a great place for me to hang out with some other Moms and their babies and to learn some soothing techniques through music.
This weekend, my in-laws head home and we will officially be living real life as a family of 3. We are so blessed to have had the help (from both sets of grandparents) for 14 months and I’m guessing this will be a bit of a rude awakening for us.
Oh yea, and our little guy has officially begun walking — it’s pretty adorable to see him stomping around, although it just means more chasing him around too! He’s even started to take steps on the stairs too, how is he growing up sooo fast!??! *tear*
